Graduated in Choral Direction and with a degree in Lyrical Singing by the Superior Institute of Art in La Habana (Cuba) with a Gold Diploma distinction).
She has received several prizes in contests and festivals, among which stand out:

Pilar Moraguez has performed in the most prestigious concert halls and theatres of her natal Cuba and other countries, such as France, Italy, Portugal, Russia and Korea. It is worth standing out:
She interpreted the character Lucrezia Borgia, conducted by Miquel Ortega and under the scenic direction of Maestro Emilio Sagi, at the Caixanova Theatre, in Vigo with the Association of Friends of the Opera of this city.
She performed for the first time D’ópera, a production of the Grand Theatre Liceu, in Barcelona under the conductor Joan Font, from the company “Els Comediants”. Later on, she participates with this same production at Isabel la Católica Theatre in Granada, in the 53rd Festival of Music and Dance.

She performed in the Symphony Hall of the National Auditorium of Madrid, under the direction of Maestro García Asensio and the Symphony Orchestra of RTVE, which was broadcasted by the Spanish National Television (TVE) and National Music Radio (Radio Clásica) on Christmas Day.
She also sang at the Royal Theatre in Madrid with the Symphony Orchestra of Castilla y León, conducted by Maestro Manuel Galduf, in the Concert of Arts and Science, homage to Universal Journalists.
Pilar Moráguez sopranoShe also performed “Violetta” in La Traviata by Verdi, at the Municipal Theater in Guarda, Portugal, with the Compañía Lírica Siglo XXI.
She also participated in the concert at the Palacio de Congresos y de la Opera, in A Coruña (Spain) with the Local Band under the direction of Maestro Marcel Van Bree.
With the International Opera Company Concerlirica, she was “Gilda” in Rigoletto at the López de Ayala Theatre (Badajoz) and in Breton de los Herreros Theater (Haro, La Rioja). She also interpreted “Musetta” in La Boheme at the Colmenar Viejo Theatre (Madrid) and at the Theatre Auditorium Príncipe de Asturias in Torremolinos.
With the Operatic Group of Madrid and under the conduction of Jaime Martorell, she performed “Violetta” in La Traviata by Verdi at the Zarzuela Theatre in Madrid in a concert for children, having the presence of her Royal Highness the Princess Elena and at the Principal Theatre in Zaragoza with a resounding success of reviews and audience.
She performed Opera de Juguete for the first time at the Reina Victoria Theatre in Madrid and at the City of Arts and Sciences, in Valencia.
Pilar Moráguez has as well given several concerts, together with other singers of the Operatic Group of Madrid in numerous Auditoriums, concert halls and theatres in Spain, as well as in several countries of the rest of Europe and the Near East.

 

Her repertoire covers the most important piano composers, from the Baroque to the 20th century, vocal European concert music, opera arias, operettas, zarzuelas, north-American musical, Latin-American, Spanish and Cuban music.
Since 1997, she forms a duo with the pianist Arabel Moráguez, developing an important activity of concerts and interpreting the best of the international repertoire, for voice as well as for piano. They have been invited to participate in music festivals such as Are-More in Vigo and concert seasons in Madrid, Marbella and Portugal (Lisbon and Cascais). In March 2004, the CD A la Antigua came out and it was dedicated to famous Cuban composers of the 19th and 20th century, with the record company Columna Música from Barcelona. Afterwards, the CD was presented on a promotional tour around Spain and Portugal, receiving excellent reviews in several publications, including the magazine Melómano y Scherzo.
She performed a Spanish zarzuela concert with the Lalín Municipal Band at the World Band Festival in Kerkrade, Holland under the direction of the master Brams Sniekers and the recording of the CD “El Gato Montés” live from the concerts.
In 2015 he recorded “La Voz Deseada”, an album of lyric songs by the composer and pianist Carmen Garrido with poems by contemporary Andalusian poets under the production of Paco Ortega and the record label Dulcimer Songs.
